IMPORTANT POINTS
--As a parent choosing child care, it is important to remember to choose a Provider who has a similiar parenting style as well as similiar values and morals. Doing this will provide your child with a continuity of care between your home and the Family Providers home.
--Family child care providers care for multi-aged groups of children allowing children to remain with one caregiver for many years. This develops trust and security in children.
--Family child care offers a smaller ratio of children to adult
--Due to the smaller ratio, this often allows early interventions and special needs care to be more readily available, if needed
--Social and emotional skills are the key to a successful "ready for school" child. Easy one on one discussions with Provider daily.
--Look for a quality learning environment where your child can grow and thrive. There are all forms of learning environments. Speak to the Provider on how the learning process is achieved in their home.
--Interview the Provider in person, not over the phone.
